Structural
Integration is a hands-on approach to the body, working layer by
layer to restore dense fascia to its original gel-like state. Starting
with the surface layers and working to the deeper layers, we free the
fascial web, so that ultimately the muscles can function independently
using fascia as a lubricant. The aim of Structural Integration is to
create a central axis around which the body can move freely, so that it
can access the energy of gravity.
The terms Rolfing and Structural Integration are commonly
used interchangeably by our clients and our community. The term Rolfing
is a trademark of the Rolf Institute. |
